Halton Sr.

Bishop Stephen D. Halton, Sr. was born Stephen Douglas Halton on January 18, 1963, he is the ninth child of twelve siblings to the late legendary Bishop Stanley and Mother Mary Lou Halton. Educated through the Cleveland Public School system, he achieved academic excellence by graduating from Cleveland Heights High School. Upon completing his education he entered the work force and began working for The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he retired in July 2012 after working for over thirty years.

Bishop S.D. Halton was baptized at the tender age of five years old and on January 13, 1991 he was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He became a devoted member to Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church and served on numerous committees. He served as a Sunday school teacher and Youth Department Chairman. He served as the National Youth Chairman for the True Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.

 God truly had a dynamic calling on Bishop S.D. Halton’s life; shortly after receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost he accepted the call to preach the Word of God in 1992, under the leadership of his father Bishop Stanley Halton. During the early years of his ministry, Bishop S.D. Halton accredits his astute knowledge of the Gospel to the tutelage of his brother the late Bishop Nathan S. Halton. He was ordained as an Elder through the True Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., and later appointed as the District Elder over Kingston, Jamaica.

 After many years of service to Christ Temple Apostolic Church and the True Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. Bishop S. D. Halton was given a vision from God to found and pastor Bethlehem Temple of Praise Church (BTOP) and on March 17, 2002 that vision became a reality. Through Bethlehem Temple Of Praise Church, Bishop S. D. Halton and the BTOP family have been able to reach the lost and broken while ministering and serving them
